How the Symphony Suite Works
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a common laboratory technique using blood, plasma, urine, or saliva to test for antibodies, antigens, proteins, or hormones. One of the most common ELISA tests is to detect the pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotrophin, in urine.
Using whole blood for an ELISA test usually involves pre-processing and adding reagents before running the test. Symphony uses centrifugal force to process whole blood samples -- as little as three drops. Smaller than a smart phone, the integrated cartridge system is self-contained with all reagents. No specialized training is required.
